Music For Food: A Schubertiade at Chatham University

Chatham University is presenting another Music for Food benefit concert on Saturday, January 25th, this time as a Schubertiade! Piano players and organizers, Yeeha Chiu and Nanette Kaplan Solomon, spoke live with Jim Cunningham on the morning show to discuss the concert's program and perform Franz Schubert's Marche Militaire. Nanette describes what a Schubertiade is, and about the the tribute for this concert. Yeeha talks about her experience in Hong Kong and Pittsburgh as a piano player, and why Music for Food is important to her. Both talk about the program's highlights, which include members of the PSO like Alison Fujito and Stephanie Tretick. The program's works include Shepherd on the Rock as well as Schubert's beloved Trout Quintet. Nanette also briefly talks about Tuesday Musical Clubs upcoming offerings as President of the organization in Pittsburgh. Yeeha describes last Novembers Music for Food concert, and hopes people will continue to come to these events that benefit and enrich the community. Music for Food: A Schubertiade will be at the James Laughlin Music Center on Chatham University's campus on Saturday, January 25th at 3 pm. The suggested donation is $30, but it is pay what you wish.
