कदाचित् बाबरः तेनालिरामस्य बुद्धेः परीक्षणार्थं स्वस्य आस्थानं प्रति तं निमन्त्रितवान् । विभिन्नैः कौतुकैः निजवार्ताभिश्च तत्रत्यान् सभासदः हासयितुं स असमर्थः अभवत् यतः बाबरेण आज्ञा कृता आसीत् यत् कोऽपि न हसेत् इति ।  एवमेव पञ्चदशदिनानि अतीतानि । किन्तु अन्ते तेनालिरामः तस्य वाक्पाटवं साधितवान् । कथम् इति इयं कथा कथयति ।

Once, Babur invited Tenalirama to his court to test his intelligence. Despite the various jokes and news from his homeland, Tenalirama was unable to make the court members laugh, as Babur had ordered that no one should laugh. Thus, fifteen days passed in this manner. However, in the end, Tenalirama managed to outwit the king. This is the story of how it happened.
