“I promise I…” “I swear I’ve never…” “On my momma…” These are phrases that I am sure we are all familiar with. Phrases that we have even most likely said ourselves. It has been so normalized in our culture to have to reinforce what we say with something to back it up, such as, “I promise.” Is this considered a sin? What do we do about such phrases?
