Talk down to sb
means to speak to someone in a condescending or superior way, as if they are less intelligent, less capable, or less important.
Examples:
1- The manager often talks down to the team, explaining simple tasks as if they’re beginners, even though they’ve been doing the job for years.
2- During the discussion, she talked down to her opponent by dismissing their arguments instead of addressing them respectfully.
