इङ्ग्लेण्ड्देशे केण्ट्नामकस्य प्रदेशस्य समुद्रतीरे महतः चण्डमारुतस्य कारणेन काचन बृहती नौका पीड्यमाना नुद्यमाना भग्नप्राया अभवत् । समुद्रतीरस्य जनसम्मर्दे केनचित् महनीयेन सह पालितः कश्चन बलशाली अप्रतिमशूरः धीरश्च शुनकः आसीत् । शुनकस्य स्वामी किञ्चित् चिन्तयित्वा नौकारक्षणाय एकम् उपायं कृत्वा शुनकं प्रेषयति । शुनकस्य साहाय्येन सर्वे नाविकाः तीरं प्राप्नुवन्ति । कथम् इति जिज्ञासया कथां शृणुमः ।

In the country of England, at a place called Kent, a large ship was severely damaged and almost destroyed due to a great storm. On the shore, there was a powerful and brave dog.
