This Sunday we take a look at the practice of breaking bread together as a community when we partake of the Lord’s Supper. Jesus, before his crucifixion, has a final Passover meal with His disciples. This Jewish meal took on new meaning when Jesus declared that the bread and wine was symbolic of his broken body and blood. Jesus would instruct his disciples to carry out the practice of this meal often as a reminder of Jesus’ death, resurrection and return.
