Daily Ski Conditions for Mammoth Mountain, California

Welcome to Mammoth Mountain, where the snow is deep and the vibes are high. As of January 14, 2025, the mountain is looking prime for skiers and snowboarders alike. Let's dive into the latest snow conditions and forecast.

Currently, the base at the Snow Study Site (9000 Feet) is 45 inches, with an estimated 48 inches at Mc Coy Station (9800 Feet) and 48-60 inches up Top (11,053 Feet). The base around the Canyon Lodge area is 2-3 feet, and at Little Eagle Lodge, it's 1-2 feet. The Total Seasonal Snowfall at the Snow Study Site is 110.5 inches, with monthly totals of 3.5 inches in October, 62 inches in November, 37 inches in December, and 5 inches in January.

The snow surface has firmed up over the Top, with areas of funky snow sculptures from the strong NE winds that came through last week. The groomers are prime with some nice corduroy to start the day, and by 10 am, the surface is a softer-packed powder on top of the base that has firmed up now. Up Top Cornince is groomed to a flat and fast surface, but be sure to have a good edge on your gear. The rest of the Top is true adventure skiing and riding, with some areas stripped down to the hard base, some nice wind buff, and others with a strange wind-carved surface.

As for the current weather conditions, it's clear skies out on Mammoth Mountain, with a temperature of 19 degrees at the summit (11,053 feet) and 23 degrees at the Main Lodge (8,900 feet). The winds are blowing at 47 mph with gusts up to 51 mph at the summit, and a gentle 1 mph with gusts up to 5 mph at the Main Lodge.

Looking ahead to the next 5 days, the forecast is calling for sunny and chilly conditions from January 12-19, followed by sunny and cool conditions in the north and rainy and warm conditions in the south from January 20-23. The rest of the month is expected to be sunny and warm.

The piste conditions are excellent, with the groomers providing a fast and crunchy corduroy surface. The off-piste conditions are more variable, with some areas of wind-carved snow and others with a softer-packed powder.

As for the lifts and trails, Mammoth Mountain has a total of 28 lifts, but the current number of open lifts and trails is not available. However, the mountain is open and ready for skiers and snowboarders to hit the slopes.

Finally, be sure to check out some of the special deals and discounts available in the area. Black Tie Ski Rentals is offering 20% off rentals, and Fast Ski Sports is offering a free hot wax with the mention of the Mammoth Snowman.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your gear and hit the slopes at Mammoth Mountain. The snow is deep, the vibes are high, and the adventure is waiting.
