An Update with Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy

Episode 733 Published 1 year, 4 months ago
Description
Jim Cunningham talks with Director of Advancement of Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Alana Wenk, to reflect on the success of Aurora: Illuminating the Holiday Magic of Mellon Square sculpture installation. Alana discusses the inspiration behind the project, the partnerships that made it possible, and how it brought the park to life during the cold winter months late last year. Even though the lights are turned off, Alana highlights that you can still experience the installation through a special YouTube tour of the exhibit called Beautifully Lit: A Self Guided Tour. Alana also shares exciting upcoming events and programs Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is putting on, including a family-friendly trail tour to the Collective Legacy II exhibit at the Frick Environmental Center, which highlights 50 years of Black arts in the region. She then shares a sneak peek at the Conservancy's new strategic plan, and the vision for future art installations in Pittsburgh's parks. Hear all about what is going on in your favorite park!
