The Clockwinders discover dire news about the state of their world. Chief Elaine Forben, the Chief Clockwinder Custodian, tasks a small team with a test. If successful, they might be the planet Cadvini’s best hope to venture out into the wilds, to find and repair the Movement Cores that keep the world stable. In their test, Kade spots something useful. Maxine imparts knowledge about their target. Einon makes a hazardous climb. But upon reaching their destination, they find something unexpected... and extremely dangerous.
