• Turned around school from 57 students (and dwindling) to over 320 students and now ranked 43 in the state.

• Fully accredited.

• The need for mentors. Surround yourself with people who know more than you.

• When taking over a role, need to find people who know the culture.

• Take ownership for the situation.

• Don’t pass the blame for anything.

• Painted a picture for teachers. Cleaned house

• Went from 6 staff to 24 teachers, through establishing a vision.

• Don’t just have a meeting to fire someone, retrain them.

• Give them an option of what it looks like.

• The power is in the parents’ hands.

• Contrasts with Public schools.

• Challenges in Central Florida schools.
