Elizabeth Ortiz-Chavez faces a murder charge in the shooting death of Josue "Jay" Ruiz, 16, in March 2022. Ortiz-Chavez's 16-year-old son, Angelo Baldonado, was arrested and charged with Ruiz's murder. Police would later say the mother was allowing her teenage son to take the fall for the murder. Ortiz-Chavez also faces charges related to having images of child sexual abuse on her tablet.
