Description
Good morning, weather watchers! I'm your meteorologist coming to you with the latest forecast for the Columbus area.
Bundle up, folks, because we're looking at a chilly weekend ahead! Tonight, expect some flurries dancing through the night with temperatures dropping to a brisk 18 degrees. Those west winds will be howling at around 10 miles per hour, with gusts that might make you want to grab an extra layer.
Saturday brings a bit of sunshine with partly cloudy skies and a high of just 24 degrees. Those west winds will continue to keep things crisp, blowing around 11 miles per hour.
Now, here's where things get interesting. Sunday afternoon, we're tracking a potential snow system. Expect increasing clouds and a high near 27 degrees. But Sunday night is when the winter magic really happens - we're looking at snow that could get pretty heavy, with accumulations between 3 to 5 inches possible. Temperatures will hover around 22 degrees.
Monday continues the winter wonderland theme, with snow likely throughout the morning and total accumulations of 1 to 2 inches expected.
The rest of the week looks cold but relatively calm, with temperatures struggling to climb above the mid-20s and overnight lows dipping into the teens.
Heads up: There's currently a Winter Storm Watch in effect, so make sure you're prepared for some potentially tricky travel conditions.
