Today, Larry goes one on onewith Brian Nadeau, part of Gulfstream Park’s On-Track Broadcasting Team , who talks in depth about the current Gulfstream Championship meet and a primary focus on major stakes days like Pegasus  and Florida Derby. Brian also discusses the Mucho Macho Man and Ginger Brew Stakes, features  on todays racing card and who he believes both races will go through and talks about how the current Gulfstream Park meet has been performing since opening day in early December.; Woodbine Mohawk Park Track Announcer Ken Middleton, who visits the show again for the first time since early in 2024 and discusses some of the highlights of the recently concluded Harness Racing meet and his path to becoming a well respected Racetrack Announcer. He also discusses how he is progressing from a serious Training Accident from 2023 .; Woodbine Mohawk Harness Driver James MacDonald, who talks about his record breaking yearin 2024  in total wins and purses earned and whether he has any goals set for 2025. James also talks about how Harness Racing became the
‘family business’and is asked ‘If he didn’t become a Harness Driver, what does he think his career path would have been’- tune in for a surprising answer from James.

In our newest regular feature,‘Road Trip’, Larry talks about  todays Smarty Jones Stakes at Oaklawn Park and mentions about some of the history behind  the race itself and who he believes the race ‘goes through’ today. He also  provides  his ‘Ponies Picks of the Day’ selections for several North American Racetracks, later on in the show.




● Brian initially discusses the current Gulfstream Park Championship meet and how now the track will be launching the major stakes portion of the meeting today, that will lead to several feature days including the Pegasus and Florida Derby. He also talks about Pegasus and Florida Derby Days and what makes them so appealing to race fans  and how the racing has been so far at Gulfstream , leading up to todays card and whether having three racing surfaces, dirt, synthetic and turf , createssome extra challenges for handicappers. Brian also discusses why Woodbine horses that have shipped to Gulfstream Park, usually need a race to get used to the racing surfaces and talks about todays two stakes events, the Mucho Macho Man and the Ginger Brew and who he believes are the horses to beat in both races. Brian also discusses how he became involved in horse racing initially and who he believes will win the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year, later this month.


● Ken initially discusses how he eventually became a Harness Racing Announcer  and why he had a major interest in calling races. He also talks about how he is able to distinguish  the horses from each other when calling a race and talks about some of the highlight races he had an opportunity to call in 2024 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Ken also discusses the fact that he is also a Trainer and updates listeners on how he is progressing from injuries from a 2023 Training Accident and also talks about the Bill Galvin Alliance and discusses the goals of the Standardbred racing initiative and the person it was named for.
