She Spoke About the Child to All awaiting the Redemption of Jerusalem
Published 1 year, 5 months ago
Description
We read today about Anna, the prophetess, in the gospel. Her figure and example would spur us on regarding how to spend these days of the Christmas season. We may learn from her sanctifying herself, staying in the temple most of the time helping out there. For most of us, our temple would be the one we attend every Sunday and holiday of obligation. But for the rest of the week, we convert wherever we are into a temple of sorts. That temple will have a priest, and that is each one of us, because of the common priesthood we received in the sacrament of baptism. That temple will have its version of an altar in the table or place of work we work on or in. Then, we learn from Anna, her talking about the Child to everyone awaiting redemption. We are all awaiting redemption, since we acknowledge that we are sinners. Then, we can spend the rest of the Christmas season talking about the Child with our family and relatives and friends.
