Episode Details

In Matthew 11, Jesus spoke to the people of Capernaum, His hometown, warning them that despite their prosperity, they would be brought down to hell because they did not respond to the miracles and works of God that had been done there.

Jesus compared Capernaum to Sodom and said that if the same miracles had been done in Sodom, it would have been spared. Think about that. Capernaum witnessed the dead being raised to life, the healing of incurable diseases, the defeat of demonic powers, and the call to follow Jesus.

The point here is that God desires mercy and restoration rather than judgment. The miracles in Capernaum were a testament to God's mercy and power. Today, we can learn from this. Let's respond now to the mercy and grace of God by choosing to follow Jesus, experiencing His supernatural provision and extending His mercy to others. Ask Him for strength.
