At last, Jesus, the Savior, the Messiah, has been born! Hidden and unannounced in some poor stable in Bethlehem. The center of the universe was focused on this point in space and time. The foremost figure of human history graces our history and geography with His divine Presence. Not too many people learned about His birth. First, there were some shepherds nearby resting for their duties. They were so humble enough to accept that they needed to be saved too. So, they went to check out this phenomenon revealed to them by the angels. Then, there were the wise men from the East. They too humbly sought the Presence, since they knew they did not know everything. And so, they searched for Wisdom itself. Thus, we learn the essential need of humility in finding the Baby Jesus. In the entrance to the space where Jesus was born and laid in a manger, the church in Bethlehem uses an entrance where everyone has to bend low to enter. Thus, they emphasize the need to bow down to meet the newly born King of Kings and Lord of Lords in that Baby!
