Supernatural: Repo Man (7x15) | Recap & Lore

Season 7 Episode 15 Published 1 year, 10 months ago
Description

Supernatural Season 7, Episode 15, Repo Man recap 😈 A demon the boys exorcised four years ago seems to be back on the job, and Lucifer won’t shut up, on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.

Four years ago, Sam and Dean saved a man named Jeffrey (Russell Sams) from a demon in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Now the same murders have started again, so the boys head back to town, with help from Nora (Nicole Oliver), a witch who’s on their side for once. Meanwhile, Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) is back in Sam’s head, and he has a lot to say.

Episode Highlights:

  • A cold open set “four years ago,” with Sam’s very present-day hair
  • “Do I smell menopause?” plus the Wiccan bitch of the West
  • A brutal torture montage, and a demon who hands the wheel back to his meat suit
  • Back in Coeur d’Alene, where Frank calls with plenty of updates and still nothing on Dick
  • Lucifer is back on screen, and he hates the motel room
  • Detective Sutton’s impressive memory, and Lucifer’s forked tongue (which Berly finds... potentially useful)
  • A halfway house debate over Cinemax, and Jeffrey’s big day picking up a dog
  • A very busy reference section at the library (good for you, Marjorie)
  • Lucifer’s most disturbing trick yet, and the two words that change everything for Sam
  • A nest, a summoning, a demon who “doesn’t double tap,” and an ending that gives Sam zero rest

Written by Ben Edlund, and neither host would have guessed it, because Ben went to the dark side. It’s less gory than violent, but every bit of it is there to make you uncomfortable, and it works. LA never thought she’d say it was good to see Lucifer again. Both hosts loved the actors who played two versions of their characters. Berly says it won’t be a season favorite, but the more she thinks about the twist, the more she likes it.

In the lore segment, LA reads a Psychology Today article on why psychopathic killers often hide in plain sight. Killers like Ted Bundy and Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer, were “social chameleons” who blended in as neighbors, coworkers, and partners. The article walks through the traits an FBI symposium on serial murder linked to psychopathy, and it explains why psychopathy almost never qualifies as legal insanity. The demon’s recruiting strategy makes a lot more sense now.

“It’s a monster problem, really.” – Dean
