Charlotte County Deputy Elio Diaz pulled over a driver on December 15 for a suspended license. Diaz tried to help Andrew Mostyn get his insurance reinstated for more than an hour so he wouldn't have to tow him. Mostyn ended up shooting and killing Diaz. Deputies later shot and killed Mostyn.
