Dishearten
means to make someone lose hope, confidence, or enthusiasm. It’s when something discouraging happens, and you feel like giving up.
Examples:
1- After getting a poor review, the chef decided not to let it dishearten her. She spent the next week refining her recipe and wowed the judges at the next competition.
