Description

Welcome back to Courtroom Confidential with Joshua Ritter! This week, I share my insights on some of this week’s updates in the true crime world, including:

- After a days-long manhunt, Luigi Mangione, the man authorities now believe responsible for the brazen assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is fighting his extradition back to New York.

- Grammy award winning rapper, producer and music mogul Jay-Z has been slapped with a lawsuit alleging he assaulted a 13-year-old girl along with embattled fellow rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

- Daniel Penny, the military veteran accused in the death of Jordan Neely, a volatile, mentally ill man on a New York subway, has been acquitted and speaks to the media for the first time.

This week’s roundup also covers several major cases making headlines, a judge’s approval for Lori Vallow, the so-called "Doomsday Mom," to represent herself at trial; a hearing in Karen Read’s case; updates on the disappearance of Suzanne Simpson as her husband, Brad, faces murder charges; obstruction charges against Ryan Borgwardt for faking his own death; and the arrest of two prominent luxury real estate brokers and their brother on sex trafficking charges.
