We've got now! w/ Bishops Sherman Gordon & Jawane Hilton (Part I)
Description
On Wednesday & Thursday (Dec. 29-30), I hosted a two-part series called ๐พ๐โ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐! featuring some of the millennial leaders in our community making a difference every day.
Weโre talking religion, politics, non-profit and community service, entertainment, business, and other creative industries - to name a few. Weโre diving into what keeps them up at night and what motivates them and their generation every day.
Bishop Sherman A. Gordon is the Senior Pastor of Family of Faith Christian Church in Long Beach, CA. He was recognized in The African American Pulpit as one of the โ20 to Watchโ. Ebony Magazine referred to him as one of the โYoung Leaders of the Futureโ. He founded Sherman Gordon Foundation in 2004, an organization engaged in mentoring young people, educational workshops, ministering the gospel and being actively involved in community awareness.
Bishop Jawane Hilton is the Senior Pastor at Brister Memorial Baptist Church of Compton, CA and is a Member of the Carson, CA City Council. He also is the founder of City on the Hill Church which recently became a part of Brister Memorial Baptist Church. Moreover, he founded a school that focuses on helping at-risk youth get the education and job training they need to be successful. He previously served as a member of both Carson's Public Safety Commission and Human Relations Commission, and worked as the director of public policy for a local non-profit organization.
