Description

Angela Reddock-Wright welcomes civil rights attorney and fellow KBLA Talk 1580 Radio Host Areva Martin - In Real Time with Areva Martin. Together, they delve into two critical topics: Areva’s fight for reparations for Black and Latino residents forcibly removed from the former Section 14 area in Palm Springs, CA, and her recent tour through the seven battleground states ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

Areva shares insights from her advocacy for survivors and descendants affected by Palm Springs’ forced evictions in the 1950s and ‘60s and updates listeners on her ongoing legal battle for justice. Shifting gears, Areva describes her journey through the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan and beyond, in the 2024 unprecedented Presidential campaign and election between U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and former U.S. President Donald Trump.

In her tour, she engages with whom she coins as “irregular voters” and works to combat disinformation aimed at Black voters. Areva’s mission is clear: mobilize voters who may sit out the election and underscore the importance of their voices.
