Ending Well‼️A Vile Sinner with a Good Ending, Thief on the Cross

By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7‬:‭8‬ ‭

“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”

‭‭MANY START WELL BUT DO NOT END WELL ALTHOUGH THE THIEF AT THE CROSS MIGHT HAVE HAD A POOR BEGINNING WE PRAISE THE LORD THAT HE ENDED WELL

Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭

“You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭

Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭32‬-‭33‬ ‭

“There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.”

Luke‬ ‭23‬:‭39‬-‭43‬ ‭

“Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

1 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭

“This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.”

Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭10‬-‭13‬ ‭

“He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.”

‭‭

1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭

“If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

GOD’S FORGIVENESS IS NOT A LICENSE TO CONTINUE SINNING

Psalms‬ ‭130‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭

“If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.”

We should not try to lessen our guilt by excusing sin. We must accept God’s estimate of sin, and that is heavy indeed. Calvary alone can reveal the terrible enormity of sin. If we had to bear our own guilt, it would crush us. But the sinless One has taken our place; though undeserving, He has borne our iniquity. “If we confess our sins,” God “is faithful and just to forgive us our sins . . .” (1 John 1:9). Glorious truth!—just to His own law, and yet the Justifier of all that believe in Jesus. {Thoughts from Mount of Blessings p. 116}

Psalms‬ ‭85‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭

“…For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly.”

2 Peter 2:21-22

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
