Today, the second Sunday of Advent, we are provided an essential aspect of our preparation for the birth of the Lord, and for His second coming. That is repentance. God sent John the Baptist to announce this as the proximate preparation for the coming of the Messiah. Repentance is the way. We need to adopt this way in our daily life: examination of conscience, daily, monthly and annually, and frequent and regular confession. We can take better care of asking for forgiveness when we came up short in our dealings with the others.
