Proverb 18:21 reminds us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. God's thought towards us are good and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11), and even in difficult times, we must declare His goodness.
When others say "There is a casting down," we will say, "There is a lifting up." (Job 22:29). By speaking faith-filled words, we position ourselves for God's blessing, elevation and victory.
