Sundar Viswanathan has shared the world stage with national and international artists alike as a JUNO-nominated and award-winning jazz saxophonist, vocalist and composer. His band Avataar has a new CD called Petal. Avataar’s music has drawn comparison to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Keith Jarrett with Jan Garbarek, late Coltrane, and Oregon. The resulting confluence is a mesmerizing blend of rhythmic hypnotism, sonic landscapes and soaring melody that marries ancient and modern musical sounds.

Music by: Gary Stroutsos, Avataar, Sundar Quartet, & The John Coltrane Quartet.
