Sermon: Maximizing the Opportunity

Scripture: Ephesians 5:14-16

'This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. '

INTRODUCTION: Nudge Evangelism is waking people up to see that Jesus is already at work in their lives. 

I define evangelism as “nudge” and evangelists as “nudgers.”

Nudgers recognize the Importance of three things:

Be Awake:

'To live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history. It is time for us to wake up! For our full salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.'

Be Wise:

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise...

But a life lived loving God bears lasting fruit, for the one who is truly wise wins souls.

Be Ready to Maximize the Opportunity:

Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

CONCLUSION: Jesus is at work in the lives of people that we meet everyday. Will we maximize the opportunity by helping them see Jesus?
