On June 6th, 1996, Darlie Routier’s throat and arms were slashed. Her two oldest sons, 6-year-old Devon and 5-year-old Damon, were brutally stabbed to death in their suburban Texas home.  By the time the police and paramedics arrived, Devon was already dead. They tried to save Damon, but he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
Twelve days after the murders, Darlie was arrested when police noted multiple inconsistencies in her story.  In 1997, she was convicted and sent to death row.
