Welcome to the very first episode of RPG Blokes! We’re four middle-aged mates from London, UK, with a shared passion for tabletop role-playing games (RPGs). We believe this hobby has the power to bring endless joy, creativity, and connection to people like us—whether you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s or beyond, It's a great way to remain young at heart.
For years, we’ve been introducing people to RPGs in our local community, while running one of the largest RPG weekly clubs in London, and now we’re inviting you, wherever you are, to join the adventure. If you’ve ever been curious about what RPGs are or how to get started, we’re here to guide you. Our goal is simple: to inspire adults who’ve never played before—or are returning after years away—to give RPGs a try.
In this episode, we’ll start at the very beginning: What is an RPG? We’ll assume you know nothing and break it down in a way that’s friendly, relatable, and easy to understand. Sure, you can Google it and get a textbook definition, but we’re here to give you our perspective on that definition.
