Despite loving and respecting his parents, Chris struggled through family life with an alcoholic father and having almost adopted sister with emotional problems. Chris had a challenging childhood being bullied at school and dropping out of his senior year of high school. After Chris left the U. S. Marine Corps, he started his search. His outreach to his birth mother got her in deep trouble, and his half-brother was scared out of making contact with Chris. Thankfully, he was able to make a connection with his mother and brother who opened up to Chris like he had never done before.
