The Power of Prayer 🙏 in the Life of Jesus: Handling the Danger ‼️ of Popularity (Part 1)
By Pastor and Mrs Chifamba
IN THE SPIRITUAL ARENA POPULARITY IS A WEAPON OF SPIRITUAL DESTRUCTION
Luke 6:26
Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
John 5:41-44
I receive not honour from men. 42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
THE FEEDING OF THE FIVE THOUSAND MADE JESUS SO POPULAR THAT THE PEOPLE WANTED TO IMMEDIATELY PROCLAIM HIM AN EARTHLY KING. JESUS HANDLED THE SITUATION WITH PRAYER KNOWING THAT HIS KINGDOM WAS NOT OF THIS WORLD 🌍
John 6:14-15
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. 15¶When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
Mark 6:46-47
And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. 47And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
John 18:36 NKJV
“Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
OH THAT THIS TRUTH WOULD SETTLE INTO ALL CHRISTIANS THAT WE ARE PILGRIMS AND STRANGERS IN THIS WORLD 🌍 WE WOULD NOT STRUGGLE FOR WORLDLY POPULARITY BUT LIFT UP JESUS WHO WILL USHER US INTO HIS EVERLASTING KINGDOM.
Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Hebrews 11:13-16
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
