Command Me To Come to You on the Water

Command Me To Come to You on the Water

Description
Today, the gospel tells us about how we can grow in faith. The situation was that Our Lord walked to the boat that was having difficulty in navigating against the strong wind and waves. They thought it was a ghost. Our Lord assured them that it was only Him. Then, Peter asked Him to let him walk on the water too. He asked him to come to Him then. He did but was cut short because he noticed the strong wind that he took his eyes off of Jesus. He began to sink and he cried out to our Lord to save him. When they both got into the safety of the boat, Our Lord asked him why he doubted and assessed he had little faith. Now, this is interesting. Peter manifested his faith by asking Our Lord to let him walk on the sea, he ventured out of the boat to do so, and although he got distracted by the wind and thus, he began to sink, he cried out to Our Lord to save. All these showed his faith. But still Jesus assessed him to have little faith, since he doubted. Our Lord will see us always to be of little faith when we face problems and challenges to our faith in daily life. Thus, we only grow in faith by continually making acts of faith in praying to Him and seeking His help.
