कदाचित् असमराज्ये रत्नध्वजः शासनं कृतवान् । परन्तु तस्य मन्त्री लालुकसोलः दुष्टः आसीत् । लालुकसोलः रत्नध्वजस्य पितुः हननं कारयित्वा, स्वकन्यायाः विवाहं रत्नध्वजेन सह अकारयत् । जामातुः सम्भाव्यप्रतिद्वन्द्वीनां निराकरणाय लालुकसोलः अहोमकुलीयानाम् अङ्गक्षतं कारितवान् । परन्तु गदापाणेः अङ्गक्षतं कर्तुं नाशक्नोत् । लालुकसोलः गदापाणेः पत्नीं जयमतीं तस्य मर्मस्थलं प्रकाशयितुं पीडयति स्म, परन्तु सा तत् रहस्यं न प्रकाशितवती । अन्ते गदापाणिः सैन्यं सज्जीकृत्य युद्धस्य घोषणां कृत्वा रत्नध्वजं लालुकसोलं च पराजितवान् । जयमत्याः बलिदानेन राज्यस्य समृद्धिः अभवत् ।

In the second half of the 17th century, the Ratna Dhwaj Ahomraj dynasty ruled Assam. But his minister, Laluksol, was evil. Laluksol killed Ratna Dhwaj's father and married his daughter to Ratna Dhwaj. To neutralize the potential rivals of the son-in-law, Lalusola massacred the Ahom tribesmen. But Gadapane couldn't make it. Laluksol had been pressuring Gadapane's wife, Jayamati, to reveal his whereabouts, but she did not reveal the secret. Finally, Gadapani raised an army and declared war, defeating Ratna Dhwaja and Lalukasola. Jayamati's sacrifice brought prosperity to the kingdom.
