The Power of Prayer 🙏 in the Life of Jesus: The Spirit-filled use the Sword ⚔️ of the Spirit.

SPIRIT-FILLED PEOPLE ARE A TARGET OF THE DEVIL’S SPECIAL FORCES‼️ IT IS IMPORTANT FOR US TO ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT WE ARE IN ENEMY TERRITORY AND WE NEED NOT BE IGNORANT OF HIS TACTICS.

Revelation 12:12

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 

1 Peter 5:8

Ephesians 6:10-12

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

SOON AFTER JESUS WAS SPIRIT FILLED HE FOUGHT A HAND TO HAND BATTLE WITH THE DEVIL IN THE WILDERNESS AND HE OVERCAME THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. PRAYER AND THE WORD OF GOD ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE OF EACH OTHER BUT GO HAND IN HAND

Proverbs 28:9

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Zechariah 7:12-13

Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts. 13Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts

Luke 4:1-4

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

The mind must be restrained, and not allowed to wander. It should be trained to dwell upon the Scriptures, and upon noble, elevating themes. Portions of Scripture, even whole chapters, may be committed to memory,to be repeated when Satancomes in with his temptations… Wall the soul in with the restrictions and instructions given by inspiration of the Spirit of God. When Satan would lead the mind to dwell upon earthly and sensual things, he is most effectually resisted with“It is written.” – {Our High Calling p. 88.5}

Matthew 4:10-11

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. 

SPIRIT-FILLED CHRISTIANS USE THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD WHEN PURSUED AND HARASSED BY THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS. THEIR PRAYERS ARE NOT EMPTY PRAYERS BUT ARE INFORMED BY THE WORD OF GOD 📖 

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Ephesians 6:14-18

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always wi
