Sobriety Affirmation: Today is My Day
Welcome to the updated sobriety Now What? affirmations to help your sober self-thrive.
Before we begin, find a safe calm place. Somewhere where you are not driving. Maybe you can sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor or maybe lie down with your head on a pillow. Get comfortable. We will start with breathing and relaxing and then will ease into the affirmations.
I encourage you to Close your eyes if you can. Bring your attention just behind your eyes to ground yourself in this moment. Allow yourself to be here just focusing on my voice. I will have you breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you breath out perse your lips as if you were blowing out of a straw.
ow take a deep breath in through your nose… and let it out slowly through your pursed lips. With every inhale, say to yourself in your mind, “I breathe in calm.”
With every exhale, say to yourself, “I breath out stress.”
“I breathe in calm.”
“I breath out stress.”
Feel the tension leaving your body as you sink into the present moment. Allow gravity to take the weight of the stress and have it fall to the earth and neutralize. Imagine your body on a cellular level is healing and recharging itself right now.
Let your shoulders relax, let your jaw soften, and let your breath flow naturally.
This is your time. A time to reconnect with the powerful, resilient, confident person you are.
Let’s begin with the affirmations. I’ll say each one, and I invite you to repeat after me. And now I will have you breath in and out naturally at your own pace and repeat after me.
Today is my day.
I am sober.
I am worthy of all the good that awaits me on this path.
I step boldly into the life I was always meant to live.
I release any resistance that is keeping me from my highest good.
I breathe in and welcome the new possibilities of life.
I am strong.
I am resilient.
I will face each challenge and continue to rise and move forward.
My hope, my dreams, my story –
they are significant,
They are powerful,
They are meaningful.
I was born into this world at this time for a reason, and I am exactly where I need to be.
I have value.
I will not allow any darkness to dim my light for I am to bright and powerful. Today, I let my light shine and radiate the path before me.
I am not alone.
Today, I am ready. I say yes to life.
I say yes to participating fully in this incredible journey ahead of me.
I can do this.
I have proven people wrong before, and I will do it again. I will rise.
I will overcome and I will Thrive in my sobriety.
I am enough, just as I am.
I am exactly where I need to be, and I have all I need to stay strong and sober.
When the world tries to weigh me down and feel small and weak,
I will say no and I will rise confidently and stand tall.
I am here for a reason. My voice, my presence, my actions – they matter.
I may stumble, but I will always rise again.
I am part of something bigger – a legacy of resilience, hope, and love.
It is time to share my gifts with the world, not just for myself but for others who need to see what is possible.
It is time to listen to that small still voice.
