Permission?

Permission?

Description

“I’m an artist. Artists don’t need permission to work.” – Chadwick Boseman

3 reasons this resonates with me:

* The first sentence alone, is a statement.

* Be an artist.

* You don’t have to have paints and canvas and brushes.

* You don’t have to always have an amazing ground breaking prolific idea.

* Just be an artist.

* Just be.

* I personally like to break rules, so waiting for permission to do something is… Ridiculous to me.

* Why are you waiting for permission?

* Whose permission do you feel you need?

* Why do you need their permission?

* Realize, the only person’s permission you need is your own.

* The first sentence is a statement. The second one is a call to action.

* Just go make stuff.

* Stop waiting for excuses to do something.

* As a matter of fact, THIS is your call to action.

To close out on this I have to give some props. I have an immense amount of respect for Chadwick Boseman. he’s an extraordinary example of what being a black actor is in his own style. His successes in life have created legend for me. I’m not in awe of him, just waiting for something to happen. I’m inspired by him.
