Since 1 February 1962 Waiblingen has been a large district town.
Die Stadt wurde 1634 während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges fast vollständig zerstört.
The town was almost completely destroyed in 1634 during the Thirty Years' War.
Noch heute kann man entlang der ursprünglichen Stadtmauer spazieren gehen.
Today you can still walk along some of the original town wall.
