This week's episode welcomes Woody Thorne, who is a proud SIU graduate and currently works for SIH. On February 10, 2024, the SIUC Men's Basketball team and on February 29, 2024, the Women’s Basketball team will be on the court wearing special black Under Armour jerseys for the Salukis Blackout Cancer games. These games are a way for Saluki fans across the country and people in the community to get involved in helping the Salukis raise funds to support the efforts of the SIH Coach Kill Cancer Fund. The fund was established as a result of Coach Jerry Kill’s personal experience with cancer. Coach Jerry Kill and Rebecca Kill partnered with the SIH Foundation to create the Coach Kill Cancer Fund allowing the fund to assist patients within the southern 16 counties of Illinois that are dealing with cancer and childhood diseases. Woody shares the story of how this game all came about and his favorite memories of this game.
