Season 7 Episode 36
60 Seconds of Hope: Come Out Your Grave
“The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with strips of cloth and his face wrapped in a cloth.” - From John 11:44
Change is hard. Transformation is hard. Resurrection is hard. Redemption and restoration are hard. About the only thing that is harder remaining the same.
Even with the community moving the stone, even with Jesus showing up and calling his name, Lazarus still had to up out of that grave, somehow, some way.
His hands and feet were bound. His head was covered. He wasn’t able to unbind himself. Yet he struggled his way out with the sound of Jesus’s voice as his guide.
It’s a struggle to leave the grave of inequality and injustice. It’s a struggle to leave the grave of dysfunctional family structures and toxic friendships and relationships.
Even with support of community and the power of God within us, we still have to come out our graves.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
