Nicola is the President of Data Protection Authority in the republic of San Marino.
Even in the time of a pandemic, the GDPR remains relevant for the protection of personal data. In fact, we need to put more attention on the protection of privacy. Nicolas shares that he welcomes innovation and the development of new technical solutions. However, it is necessary to assess the impact of such solutions on the protection of personal data and strike the right balance between fundamental rights, human values, and human dignity while meeting the public needs. According to Nicola, there is no need for special data protection rules in relation to the pandemic as there are provisions in GDPR text already.
