We compare ourselves by nature. Cosplay is a space where we can look at what others do and think that we're not doing enough or we don't have enough followers, or we want more attention like someone else has. Whatever the case, there are ways to be kind to yourself and avoid these comparisons.
What to try instead:
Cheer others on and fit into one or more of 4 spaces – Coach, Mentor, Friend, Cheerleader
Understand everyone is at a different level – they’re not where you are – it may be manufactured, they may have teams, they may spend a lot of money and time you aren’t spending – there’s always someone better
Focus on what you can control, not what you can’t
Work to build yourself and others up not tear down.
