Is "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" just? Does it allow us to take personal revenge? What should we do when others insult, injure, or burden us?
I. Disciples of Jesus are not to respond to others with personal vengeance, v38. II. Disciples of Jesus are to respond with love not revenge, v39. III. Disciples of Jesus are to respond with love and kindness even to our enemies, vv39-42.
