Annie Lawless is a serial entrepreneur. She’s a founder of two successful companies - Suja Juice and Lawless Beauty. At just 27 years old, she was Suja’s youngest founder, a company that was one of the US’s first and largest organic juice brands that landed at #1 on INC’s 5000’s Fastest Growing Companies in the food and beverage category. In 2015, Suja sold 50% of the company, 30% to Coca Cola and 20% to Goldman Sachs, at a $300 million valuation. Now she’s building a clean beauty empire with Lawless Beauty - a beauty brand that aims to provide the same makeup we all love to use, but with clean ingredients. In this episode, Annie and I talk about what it’s like to start fresh after the sale of a lifetime, how she’s working to navigate the clean beauty space, and her best entrepreneurial advice, from how to pitch to embracing a little tension.
