Today we are talking about tip #11 of the 11 tips for helping you to stay even more focused, which is, if you sit at a desk, get up, stretch your legs and take a few deep breaths, do some sit-ups, or push-ups or take a walk around the inside or outside of the office.
If you have been working on a computer, re-train your eyes to focus on middle to long distance objects. This helps avoid eye strain. So many people are going to the stand-up desks these days, and that would be an ideal scenario for some of us to consider. Some people even have treadmills they walk on under their desk while they work. My only word of caution on the treadmills is that if you are talking to a client or on a conference call, make sure you aren’t walking or people can hear every step you take. I noticed this when I was on a conference call and someone was walking on their treadmill while we were on it and it was very distracting.
Taking the urgency out of the urgent tasks makes you aware that they weren’t life-threateningly urgent after all. Completing the urgent tasks within your time frame enables you to focus on each small task individually, and then remove it from your desk and your mind.
Over the past 11 days, we have explored 11 guidelines to help you increase the power of your focus. Apply 1 or more of these 11 ideas to help you be even more focused which will help increase your success – in business and in life.
