MOST LEADERS GRAB THE BEST LAND FOR THEMSELVES, HOWEVER JOSHUA WAS A LEADER WHO PUT OTHERS FIRST‼️HE GOT HIS INHERITANCE LAST
Joshua 19:49-51
When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them: 50According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnath–serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein. 51These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
“When they had made an end of dividing the land,” and all the tribes had been allotted their inheritance. Joshua presented his claim. To him, as to Caleb, a special promise of inheritance had been given; yet he asked for no extensive province, but only a single city. “They gave him the city which he asked, ... and he built the city, and dwelt therein.” The name given to the city was Timnath-serah, “the portion that remains”—a standing testimony to the noble character and unselfish spirit of the conqueror, who, instead of being the first to appropriate the spoils of conquest, deferred his claim until the humblest of his people had been served. – {Patriarchs and Prophets p. 515.1}
â€â€1 Corinthians‬ â€10‬:â€24‬ â€NIV‬‬
“No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.”
The life spent on self is like the grain that is eaten. It disappears, but there is no increase. A man may gather all he can for self; he may live and think and plan for self; but his life passes away, and he has nothing. The law of self-serving is the law of self-destruction. – {Desire of Ages p. 624.1}
JOSHUA MAINTAINED A GOOD NAME EVEN TO HIS DEATH AND HIS GREAT EXPLOITS IN THE FALL OF JESUS AND STOPPING THE SUN ARE RECORDED FOR OUR ENCOURAGEMENT
Proverbs 22:1
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,

Judges 2:7-8
And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
Hebrews 11:30
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
Joshua 10:12-14
Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon…And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.
GOD WILL HONOR SERVANT-LEADERS WHEN HE COMES
