Assamad Nash was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for the brutal murder of Christina Yuna Lee, a young woman who was stabbed over 40 times in her own apartment. Lee’s family is devastated by the loss and is also suing the city and the NYPD for their alleged failure to intervene the night of the murder. Nash has a history of violent crimes and was on supervised release for criminal mischief at the time of the murder. Lee’s death sparked a community response as it came during a time of increased violence against Asian Americans.
