Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭

“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed— Better not to vow than to vow and not pay.”

THIS WORLD IS A VALE OF BROKEN PROMISES‼️PROMISES TO GOD, FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS AND EVEN THE MARRIAGE VOW

Malachi‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬ ‭

“Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant.”

Malachi‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.””

‭‭JOSHUA WAS A MAN WHO WAS TRUE TO HIS WORD

Joshua 2:12-14

Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the LORD, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token: 13And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death. 14And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

Joshua‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭

“And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city! Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.”

Joshua‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭

“But Joshua had said to the two men who had spied out the country, “Go into the harlot’s house, and from there bring out the woman and all that she has, as you swore to her.” And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel.”

Joshua‬ ‭9‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭

“Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord. So Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them to let them live; and the rulers of the congregation swore to them. And it happened at the end of three days, after they had made a covenant with them, that they heard that they were their neighbors who dwelt near them.”

Joshua‬ ‭9‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭

“Then all the rulers said to all the congregation, “We have sworn to them by the Lord God of Israel; now therefore, we may not touch them. This we will do to them: We will let them live, lest wrath be upon us because of the oath which we swore to them.”

KEEP A PROMISE MADE BY A FORMER LEADER

Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭7‬ ‭

“I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart.”

Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭9‬ ‭

“So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’”

Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭13‬ ‭

“And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.”

HUMAN BEINGS CAN FAIL YOU BUT GOD WILL NEVER FAIL YOU! YOU CAN COUNT ON HIS PROMISES
