Description
The Gray Line, The Story Behind The Blue Line, is a law enforcement podcast discussing numerous topics. If you love God, Family, Country, Whiskey, and a Great Cigar, Ash Wednesday is for you. Have a cigar and a cold drink with Retired Phoenix Police Detective Bobby Arce and San Diego Police Detective Sergeants Doug Collier and David Contreras every Wednesday at 6 pm (PST). They are three former law enforcement gunslingers who interview past, present, and future gunslingers. All the episodes start with an introductory video and song.
This episode is on the Menendez Brothers. The brothers, Lyle and Erik, were convicted of murdering their parents on August 20, 1989, in their Beverly Hills residence. The parents, José and Mary Louise "Kitty" Menendez were shot execution-style by Lyle and Erik. On August 18, 1989, Lyle and Erik went to several gun stores in Southern California to buy handguns. However, due to issues with Lyle's California driver's license and a two-week waiting period mandated by gun laws, the brothers decided to purchase shotguns instead. They acquired Mossberg 12-gauge shotguns along with boxes of birdshot and buckshot ammunition in a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in San Diego, California, where Erik used a stolen driver's license from one of Lyle's friends. Are the brothers about to get a re-trial, resentenced, or released? The brothers are currently housed in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at Richard J. Donovan Prison in San Diego County. The hosts will discuss the Netflix series "Monsters, The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story."
