Is The NCAA About To Close The Dan Lanning Loophole?

Published 2 years ago
Description
Three days after Oregon head coach Dan Lanning found a loophole in the rules to trade a five-yard penalty for four seconds of game time, the NCAA is now looking at ways to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

A report from Ross Dellenger of Yahoo cited Steve Shaw, the NCAA secretary rules editor, and reported that that the NCAA Football Playing Rules Committee is looking at issuing updated guidance on how to handle that situation, if it arises again.

Kevin Noon of BuckeyeHuddle.com joins host Tom Orr to discuss the rule, why it was enforced correctly on Saturday night, and why the NCAA is now looking to take an unusual action to change the rule in the middle of the season.
