This past weekend, as Genevy Machuca reports, the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at the University of Nevada, Reno held its annual fall philanthropy event Watermelon Bust. Which raises money for Feeding America, a nonprofit organization of food banks. The event attracted a large turnout for fraternity brothers and sorority sisters at Whitaker Park. Amid the sounds of cheering and whistles , participants reflected on the significance of the event which combines philanthropy with community building.
